About the Role

The Salvation Army is seeking Casual Sales Assistants to support the day-to-day operations and help create an inspiring in-store experience for their team, customers, and community. These roles are available for the seasonal period from October 2026 to February 2027 to support increased trading demands during the holiday season.

Responsibilities

Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
Sort, price and prepare donations for sale
Assist in the development and coordination of visual merchandising and store presentation
Provide exceptional Customer Service
Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure
Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
Demonstrate TSA core values in all work related activities

Requirements

Retail sales experience is highly regarded but not essential
Strong customer service skills
Genuine passion and ability to deliver outstanding results
Alignment with our values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity
High energy, hand-on individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility to work a rolling roster including weekends
Preparedness to work across various locations in the retail area
Must be available to work throughout the seasonal period (October 2026 to February 2027)
May be required to work across any of the listed store locations as needed
Successful completion of a Working with Children Check (for child-facing roles)
Mandatory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
