About the Role

Develop innovative mechanical systems for plant-based meat manufacturing, taking operational responsibility in a fast-growing, purpose-driven startup.

Responsibilities

Support installation and commissioning of new food processing equipment, performing validation and functional testing.
Analyze existing processes and equipment performance to identify and implement improvements for efficiency, reliability, and food safety.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, integrated, and pneumatic equipment failures, minimizing production downtime.
Build, test, and iterate mechanical prototypes and operational processes based on feedback and requirements.
Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve challenges.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including S.O.P.s, schematics, and specifications.
Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, overseeing procurement and performance.

Requirements

5-8 years of mechanical engineering experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably with food processing, manufacturing equipment, or automated systems.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.
Strong foundation in equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of food industry applications is preferred.
Proficiency with CAD software, process modeling tools, and manufacturing software systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in root cause analysis and process troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret production data and develop long-lasting, cost-effective engineering solutions.
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
Fluency in English and/or German, with professional level in German, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
