About the Role
Altagram is seeking freelance translators and proofreaders for Chinese Simplified to English US localization projects within the gaming industry. This role involves adapting various game content, including in-game text, marketing materials, and subtitles, ensuring cultural relevance and linguistic accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Translate and proofread in-game text, including dialogue, quests, item descriptions, tutorials, UI, and menus.
- Localize marketing and store content such as Steam pages, trailers, social posts, and ad copy.
- Perform subtitling for cutscenes, trailers, and promotional videos.
- Conduct linguistic quality evaluation (LQA).
- Perform culturalization analysis.
- Engage in Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) for selected projects.
Requirements
- Native-level English US proficiency.
- Excellent command of Chinese Simplified.
- Demonstrated experience in localizing video games.
- Proficiency in memoQ.
- Familiarity with Plunet TMS.
