About the Role

The Controls and Customer Outcomes (CCO) team drives sustainable enhancements to business practices and processes, delivering better outcomes for customers, shareholders, and the community through preventing, detecting, and responding to issues, and embedding change.

Responsibilities

  • Support RBS to design and implement preventative controls enabling better risk and compliance outcomes.
  • Ensure the effective design of controls for new and changing processes and operations and support the business through the implementation.
  • Support lead RBS in the design, development, and embedment of a continuous assurance model.
  • Assist the RBS Line 1 Risk teams embed effective controls throughout RBS by providing robust feedback and recommending appropriate enhancements.
  • Manage Control Assurance Program (CAP) testing, including the review of test plans, and report on assurance findings.

Requirements

  • Strong background in operational risk management, with expertise in Control Assurance, benchmarking, and advanced analytical procedures, gained through experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proven people leadership with the ability to lead and manage large teams, motivate and support team members, foster a collaborative and inclusive culture, and drive high performance.
  • Skilled in using data and analytics to test controls, solve problems, and deliver meaningful risk and assurance outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both in writing and verbally.
