About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Logistics Team Lead who brings material handling expertise to the team. In this role, you’ll work in a Toyota Production System environment to coach and mentor employees while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. You will be a key player in supporting the supply chain serving internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Sets an example for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction within functional area of responsibility ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Provides leadership and participates in the Risk Assessment, 5S and STOP programs.
- Comply with all material handling and safety requirements, operate lift truck/scanner to distribute, move, ship and/or receive specified parts or equipment.
- This may require working at elevated heights (up to 50 feet).
- Collaborating closely with employees in functional area of responsibility identifies opportunities for continuous improvement (kaizen) and makes recommendations for implementation.
- Upon approval, takes leadership role in the facilitation and implementation of kaizen.
- Provides leadership in TPS driven processes and activities.
- Assists in Jishuken activities.
- Assigns, monitors and observes daily work assignments to ensure work standards and instructions are performed properly and ensures goals are met and maintains Standardized Work documentation.
- Interacts with Supervisor and/or Manager daily to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with employees.
- Reports daily results and provides input on employees’ performance.
- Uses problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns internal to their functional area of responsibility, elevating to Supervisor and/or Manager where appropriate for resolution.
- Monitors employees’ morale and make recommendations through communication with management to ensure positive morale for functional areas of responsibility.
- Facilitates on-the-job and other specified training for employees in functional area of responsibility, ensuring all employees are well trained for safe and successful completion of their jobs.
- Provides cross training to employees to provide challenge and opportunity for employees and to ensure flexibility in meeting daily work assignments/commitments.
- Monitors and arranges for proper preventive maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities for functional areas of responsibility.
- Keeps accurate records of all transactions and audits transactions to ensure overall inventory levels are accurate.
- Investigates and reconciles discrepancies and is responsible for ensuring department records are accurate.

- Two or more years of relevant or transferable experience
