About the Role
Beauty Studio Advisors blend strong beauty authority with a differentiated, service-led experience to inspire discovery, confidence, and loyalty. You will support the evolution of Beauty at Target by providing personalized recommendations, product demonstrations, beauty expertise, and authentic guest connections. This role aims to make beauty approachable, inclusive, and easy to shop, driving guest loyalty and sales growth through meaningful, service-led interactions.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, make eye contact, and initiate helpful interactions.
- Assist guests in finding products and resolving issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
- End every transaction with a sincere thank you.
- Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
- Understand guest needs and preferred service levels through open-ended questions to provide appropriate recommendations and drive sales.
- Prioritize guest interaction while completing studio tasks such as organizing products, managing inventory, ensuring accurate pricing, and maintaining displays.
- Encourage guests to explore Beauty with confidence by ensuring the area is clean, testers are available, and offering product samples.
- Participate in ongoing training on new products, industry trends, product knowledge, and guest engagement techniques.
- Familiarize yourself with prestige product ingredients and benefits using training resources and product information.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report or correct hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- Enjoy interacting with and helping others, including guests and team members.
- Thrive in a fast-moving, active, and physically demanding role.
- Be flexible and able to problem-solve creatively.
- Be open to working a variable work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
- Accurately handle mobile POS operations.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance.
- Work a variable schedule, come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required breaks.
- Work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Skills
- Previous beauty retail experience (preferred, not required).
- Strong interest and knowledge of beauty and skincare products.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequencies devices.
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within an established timeframe.
