About the Role
Mechanics are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all mechanical portions of the BHS and PBB. This role requires the ability to work autonomously or with a crew, proficiently replacing mechanical devices, structural portions, or supports essential for the safe and efficient operation of the BHS & PBB. Familiarity with 3-phase 480v connections is needed, though work will be limited to voltages below 120v, with single-phase 110v and lesser voltage connections performed under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintain superior customer service and safe working practices at all times.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment, including motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems, using diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
- Communicate work performed and system status to various parties.
- Analyze root causes of electrical failures, propose remedies, and continuously monitor for system optimization.
- Interpret schematics and engineering drawings related to system layout, location, and operation.
- Respond to call-outs for service calls (CM, PM, EM) from the Control Room Operator or manager.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and replacement, and prepare follow-up CM work orders if needed.
Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Background check and drug screen required
- Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
- Experience in an industrial environment or minimum 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic
- Proven experience as a Welder with relevant work experience
