About the Role
This role plays a key part in strengthening the risk and control environment within the Business & Wealth division, enabling the safe delivery of digital, data, and AI initiatives while meeting business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic risk advice and thought leadership across data, digital, AI, and technology-related risks.
- Partner with business leaders, Technology teams, second line risk functions, and Group Audit to identify emerging risks and strengthen controls.
- Drive the uplift of the control environment through targeted reviews, deep dives, quality assessments, automation opportunities, and governance enhancements.
- Support the safe and responsible use of data.
- Advise on emerging AI and digital risks.
- Build strong risk awareness and ownership across the division.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operational risk, compliance, assurance, legal, or business controls within financial services.
- Experience working within Data, Digital, Technology, Responsible AI, or transformation environments.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, controls, governance, and regulatory obligations.
- Experience conducting control reviews, quality assessments, deep dives, or assurance activities and driving improvements to control effectiveness.
- Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships across business, technology, audit, and risk stakeholders.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving capability, with the ability to provide practical risk advice and challenge.
