About the Role

GVC II is seeking a dependable and organized Dispatcher to support daily transportation operations. This fast-paced role involves coordinating routes, communicating with drivers and monitors, responding to service issues, and making real-time adjustments to ensure safe and on-schedule transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily routes, schedules, and driver assignments
  • Coordinate and monitor radio and telephone traffic
  • Communicate route changes, delays, call-outs, and other operational updates
  • Work with drivers and monitors to resolve service issues
  • Respond to customer questions and complaints and help identify solutions
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, drivers, monitors, and local operations
  • Help resolve pickup and drop-off issues in real time
  • Maintain accurate dispatch logs, records, and operational documentation
  • Coach and provide direction to drivers and monitors as needed
  • Assist with backup driving when required
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties related to transportation operations
  • Support special projects and other operational needs as assigned
  • Assist with supervision of daily transportation operations

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Dispatch, transportation, terminal, or professional driving experience preferred
  • Knowledge of radio dispatch procedures
  • Ability to remain organized and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable communicating by phone and two-way radio
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT physical and drug-testing requirements when required for the position
  • English proficiency required for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications.
