About the Role
Expedia Technology teams partner with Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and employees. We are seeking an engineer excited about shaping how modern platforms are built, specifically focusing on the JVM platform that powers mission-critical traffic across Expedia Group. You will design and operate core templates and tooling for JVM developers, solving complex challenges in service performance, design patterns at scale, and platform enablement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and develop the core JVM framework and tooling
- Provide technical support and guidance to platform users
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to find solutions to best increase developer productivity
- Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an agile development team
- Leverage AI to modernize our platform tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on software development experience, ideally in large-scale or enterprise environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- A solid understanding of API design and experience working on a platform team
- Experience developing features with Kotlin/JVM
