About the Role
As a Data Engineer III on the Clickstream Data Products team, you will design, build, and scale data platforms and services that capture and deliver critical behavioral signals across Expedia Group. Your work will help establish strong data contracts, improve observability and governance, and empower teams across the company to make faster, more confident product decisions while accurately measuring the impact of customer experiences and product investments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and services that support business and product outcomes across multiple domains.
- Apply strong technical aptitude to data engineering challenges, including system design, low-level design, API design, data modeling, and scalable data processing.
- Develop, test, deploy, and operate production-quality data solutions with an emphasis on reliability, performance, maintainability, and security.
- Collaborate with engineers, product partners, analysts, and domain experts to translate complex requirements into effective data products and technical solutions.
- Use data-driven analysis to improve pipeline performance, data quality, operational visibility, and decision-making across supported services and domains.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience building and operating production data pipelines, services, or platforms with ownership spanning multiple services or a defined technical domain.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data processing, software development fundamentals, API design, and system design, including low-level design.
- Experience developing maintainable, testable, and reliable solutions, with an understanding of observability, incident response, performance, and operational excellence.
