About the Role
Seeking an Aseptic Processing Operator/Turn Specialist with strong mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of food plant GMPs, sanitation, and cleanliness. Familiarity with CIP systems is preferred. The role requires good attendance, reliability, and flexibility to meet production needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production machinery.
- Adhere to GMPs to ensure product safety and quality.
- Execute sanitation procedures to maintain hygiene standards.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with precision.
- Perform food safety and quality checks.
- Locate and understand the function of all processors and sterile tanks.
- Accurately fill out all required check sheets and logs.
- Set up processors to sterile tanks with appropriate configurations.
- Sterilize processors and associated sterile tanks.
- Take all readings for processors and sterile tanks.
- Start and stop product on processors.
- Perform CIP on sterile tanks.
- Perform CIP on raw product supply lines and manage separation of product.
- Perform CIP on processors.
- Check chemical strength.
- Check and verify magnet and strainer cleanliness.
- Accurately and completely fill out all records for trained processors, including log books.
- Understand sterile zone knowledge for processors and sterile tanks.
- Perform AIC (Aseptic Intermediate Clean) on processors.
- Learn the position and function of valves.
- Monitor for proper flow, temperature, and leaks of chemicals.
- Perform safe handling of chemicals and use of safety equipment.
- Monitor all CCP (Critical Control Points) and record on logs.
- Operate specified CIP systems.
- Develop a basic understanding of aseptic processing.
- Keep processing equipment and surrounding areas clean and sanitary.
- Communicate production issues to leads and supervisors.
- Alert maintenance when equipment malfunctions and collaborate on corrections.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of food plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation, and cleanliness requirements.
- Proven track record of good attendance and reliability.
- Flexibility to work variable hours.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring.
- Ability to walk the line from start to finish of one processor.
- Ability to change and fill out charts accurately.
- Ability to sterilize a processor and sterile tank or tanks associated with the processor.
- Ability to take all readings for processor and sterile tank.
- Ability to start and stop product on a processor.
- Ability to perform a CIP on the sterile tank.
- Ability to CIP the raw product supply lines and separation of product on and off.
- Ability to perform a CIP (Clean In Place) on the processor.
- Ability to check chemical strength.
- Ability to check and verify magnet and strainer cleanliness.
- Ability to fill out all records for processors (processors trained on) accurately and completely including log books.
- Knowledge of sterile zones for one processor and sterile tank.
- Ability to AIC (Aseptic Intermediate Clean) the processor.
- Ability to begin to learn the position and function of valves.
- Ability to monitor for proper flow, temperature and leaks of chemicals.
- Ability to perform safe handling of chemicals and use of safety equipment.
- Ability to fill out all records for processors (processors trained on) accurately and completely including log books.
- Ability to monitor all CCP (Critical Control Points) and record on log.
- Understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
- Ability to operate one of the CIP systems (4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,200).
- Ability to keep processing equipment and surrounding areas clean and in a sanitary condition.
- Ability to communicate production issues to leads and supervisors.
- Ability to alert maintenance when equipment malfunctions and work with them to correct problem.
