About the Role
As a Project Manager - Civil, you will be responsible for the successful completion and delivery of assigned projects. You will serve as the primary contact with clients, maintaining their confidence by safeguarding their interests and striving to achieve their goals within the executed contract.
Responsibilities
- Attends client and public meetings.
- Coordinates with all disciplines for project delivery, ensuring team understanding of scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinates with Design Group Manager and/or Operations Manager to secure required resources.
- Coordinates work with clients and team members.
- Assists in reviewing contracts to safeguard the firm against risks.
- Negotiates contracts with clients, developing scope, fees, and schedule.
- Provides constructability and value engineering reviews.
- Secures executed contracts, Notice to Proceed, and Sub Consultant Agreements.
- Serves as an onsite project representative and/or provides construction observation duties.
- Monitors clients' project delivery goals and proactively identifies issues.
- Monitors project delivery in relation to contracted scope and fees, identifying out-of-scope services.
- Prepares complex reports, studies, and permits.
- Prepares design computations, plans, and related construction documents.
- Prepares quantity and cost estimates.
- Organizes project documents and files.
- Ensures technical accuracy and competency of projects.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
- Schedules project progress meetings to monitor progress.
- Signs and seals assigned project documents.
- Visits construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per contract documents.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, including a minimum of 5 years as a Project Manager.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of civil engineering.
- Proven leadership skills with engineering staff and organizations.
- Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to work on and contribute to several projects simultaneously.
