About the Role
S&P Global Ratings is a leading provider of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. CREDit Program Analysts produce high-quality fundamental research and ratings, engaging with senior market participants and the global investor community. This two-year training and development program offers exposure to various analytical practice groups, including Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure. Analysts combine practical work experience with professional qualifications like an MBA or CFA.
Responsibilities
- Build capability in credit, financial data, and analytical tooling by applying feedback and adopting standard ways of working.
- Contribute to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and lightweight automation.
- Support colleagues proactively with strong attention to detail and contribute creative ideas.
- Champion continuous improvement by questioning existing processes, exploring new tools, and applying fresh perspectives.
- Partner with analysts and managers to deliver reliable execution, including clear status updates and early escalation of risks.
- Build and maintain high-quality research and data packs using standard templates, applying automation where appropriate.
- Use approved large language model tools to accelerate research, summarization, and initial drafting, followed by human validation.
- Collect, clean, reconcile, and validate data; proactively identify inconsistencies and flag risks.
- Support financial model maintenance and contribute to recurring analyst monitoring workflows.
- Monitor issuer, sector, and market developments and produce concise summaries.
- Translate data, analysis, and research into clear, actionable narratives for client and market engagement.
- Develop a client-oriented, solutions-focused mindset.
- Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently.
- Support supervised piloting and testing of new tools within defined guidelines.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate or postgraduate student in the penultimate year of study only.
- Collaborative and dependable working style, with the ability to manage priorities, communicate clearly, and deliver consistently in a team-oriented environment.
- A learning mindset, comfortable adopting new tools to enhance quality, with a genuine interest in automation and efficiency improvements.
- Demonstrated ability or clear willingness to develop strength in research and data analysis, synthesizing information into clear, concise, decision-ready outputs.
- Strong spreadsheet skills with a willingness to develop proficiency in data and automation tools.
- Practical fluency with generative AI and large language model tools — or a strong willingness to develop this — paired with sound validation discipline.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis in a clear, structured format.
- A solutions-oriented mindset focused on delivering excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
- High standards for accuracy, traceability, and quality, with a commitment to responsible technology use.
- English: Required — Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally).
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
- Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
