About the Role
The Client Accounts Administrator will manage the firm’s top-tier billing portfolios for institutional, high-profile clients and attorneys. This role serves as a subject-matter expert in billing, representing the department in client meetings and driving agendas that impact billing practices. You will collaborate with internal teams to provide streamlined billing and client account services, handling complex domestic and global billing clients, editing, proofreading, finalizing, and submitting invoices, and researching client billing data for detailed analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex billing in terms of volumes, global clients, and electronic billing assignments.
- Review and edit prebills, seek requisite approvals for deferrals, write-offs, and time transfers.
- Field billing inquiries and track/resolve tickets assigned by the Accounting Service Desk daily, meeting SLA requirements.
- Ensure high proficiency in BillBlast and key electronic billing vendor sites, perform quality assurance, and conduct root-cause analysis for electronic bill rejections.
- Maintain accurate client billing requirements, including guidelines from the client’s general counsel, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Obtain complex monthly reporting, collaborating with other teams and reviewing data for accuracy.
- Gather and submit accrual information based on client requirements.
- Finalize and submit invoices directly to the client or provide to attorneys for transmission.
- Submit finalized invoices electronically based on client requirements.
- Continuously strive to improve client service and deliverables, utilizing knowledge of the legal industry.
- Share expertise and knowledge to support team member development and engage effectively with all team members.
- Proxy for or with managers when additional team support is required.
- Drive improvements through collaboration with other departments.
- Engage appropriate tools and resources to effectively deliver assignments and meet deadlines, managing time efficiently.
- Coordinate and lead global client unified billing, managing global client account assignments and performing full-cycle billing functions.
- Liaise with international counterparts to obtain accurate accrual and forecasting information for monthly client reporting.
- Keep U.S. Billing Timekeeper informed and follow up with international counterparts to ensure engaged locations stay within budget and issues invoices timely.
- Initiate troubleshooting issues with finance counterparts as needed.
- Generate global client LEDES files for electronic billing based on client requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Level
- 5 years’ successfully managing high volume billing portfolios in a fast-paced environment.
- Expert level of knowledge and experience with direct billing or client accounts (to include domestic, global and e-Billing) for a law or professional services organization required.
- Experience as a team lead preferred.
- Considered a subject-matter expert.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field highly preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $41.21 - $65.52 per hour
