About the Role
Southland Holdings is seeking a highly motivated Safety Professional to support the safety department in ensuring the implementation and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and practices across the organization. The ideal candidate must possess integrity, safety knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily safety meetings to promote awareness and compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Complete detailed accident reports and conduct thorough accident investigations.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce adherence to safety procedures.
- Monitor safety programs and recommend improvements as needed.
- Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and contractors.
- Develop job hazard analysis (JHA) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) documentation.
- Stay current with OSHA regulations and evolving industry safety standards.
- Actively promote a safety-conscious culture within the company.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant construction experience, preferably with water/wastewater, pipe, concrete, and Tunneling.
- OSHA 30 hour in Construction certification.
- First Aid/CPR certified.
- Experience with Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation.
- Willing to travel/relocate.
