About the Role
The Application Engineer will support the Engineering Services team by providing product application and technical assistance for the B-Line division. This fast-paced role requires an entrepreneurial sense of urgency and a passion for the industry, involving collaboration with marketing, sales, and engineering teams, as well as direct customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Provides product application and technical assistance to customers, customer service, and the sales force on a core group of products.
- Creates and conducts sales force, customer service and customer training on products and applications.
- Participates on cross functional teams including, for example, marketing communications and custom product solutions.
- Develops an understanding of customers’ operations and applications.
- Utilizes technical knowledge of production processes, product testing, and industry standards and reviews changes/updates for effects to product applications.
- Supports product line managers with creation of cross reference materials, presentation materials, application letters, and other documentation as needed.
- Performs construction takeoffs based on customer specified requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Highland IL or Syracuse NY will be considered.
- Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

- SAP/Business Warehouse knowledge
- Experience using Bluebeam software
- Knowledge of various types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment with understanding of materials and processes.
Skills
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate.
- Must be able to effectively interface with engineering and customers on a variety of technical issues.
- Very detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
