About the Role
As an AWS Solutions Architect, you will own the technical relationship and success of customers using AWS services. You will help AWS customers solve business challenges and speed up their products and services to market. Solutions Architects give back to the technical community by authoring white-papers and reference architectures, co-creating new products, delivering technical webinars, speaking at public events, and filing patents. You will develop expertise in AWS technologies and the Amazon culture of innovation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on AWS.
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS.
- Take part in architectural discussions that ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment.
- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions (e.g. Dev Days or Immersion Days).
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community.
- Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, product development (service teams), and support.
Requirements
- Enjoy working with Enterprise customers.
- Passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions.
- Previous experience working as a Systems or Support Engineer, including pre-sales experience.
- Desire to hone technical skills and develop new ones.
- Using your skills to make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions.
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
- Work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff.
- Adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies.
