About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior, experienced, and motivated Data Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) to help Strategic Accounts customers architect the next generation of data platforms that power agentic AI and advanced analytics workloads. You will partner with customers to design enterprise-wide data strategies using AWS, partner, and open-source data technologies, and guide them through complex data transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS, OSS and partner data solutions.
Deliver on-site technical assessments, participate in customer visits, and create reference architectures.
Engage with customer business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a modern data ecosystem.
Help customers define and implement data architectures including data lakes and lakehouses.
Provide guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.
Lead the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies to AWS.
Own technical engagements and ensure timely and successful value delivery.
Oversee project delivery and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
Own the planning, execution, technical engagement, and outcomes of specific implementation projects.
Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create proposals and assess customer needs.
Communicate with internal teams like Account Managers, Service Teams and Go-to-Market, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth across a strategic portfolio.
Interact, communicate, and partner with other AWS organizations to represent customers' needs to AWS executive leadership.
Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
Educate, train, and design innovative cloud data solutions for enterprise customers.

Requirements

8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Experience with big data processing technology (e.g., Hadoop or Apache Spark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools and environments
5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
Experience working with end user or developer communities
Knowledge of cloud architecture
Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
Experience leading and influencing your team or organization, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
