About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a large social purpose organisation where your skills and expertise will be valued, enabling you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We currently have an opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance team, supporting our portfolio of Retirement Villages across New South Wales and the ACT. Working closely with your colleagues, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of financial accounting, compliance, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Complete month-end processes, including journal preparation and posting.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and revenue reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate controls, policies, and governance standards.
- Assist with external audit preparation and audit requirements.
- Support and lead finance process improvement initiatives.
- Identify issues, recommend solutions, and drive resolutions through to completion.
- Provide support to the broader Finance team as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation in line with internal policies and audit requirements.
Requirements
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards certification), together with a relevant Finance, Accounting, or Commerce degree.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High levels of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboard development.
- A valid Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
