About the Role

HUD is building infrastructure for RL training data and evaluations for frontier AI agents, and a marketplace to sell these. This role is an exceptional learning opportunity for an early-career generalist with startup experience, offering fast-paced and wide-ranging work with unique access to all company operations. The Chief of Staff will provide dedicated mentorship.

Responsibilities

Co-own hiring and people operations, including recruiter management, feedback tracking, work trial management, and onboarding.
Own day-to-day finance operations, including payroll provider transitions, expense tracking, invoice management, and vendor payments.
Own or support cross-functional projects, translating open-ended business questions into clear recommendations and scalable systems.
Draft public-facing content such as case studies, blog posts, social media posts, and partnership announcements.
Plan and run events, including community gatherings and team offsites.
Manage miscellaneous operations, from document notarization to onboarding legal counsel.
Utilize AI for automation and enablement across all responsibilities.

Requirements

3–4 years of experience, including 2 years in management consulting (MBB or top-tier boutique) and 1–2 years at an early-stage startup in business operations or strategy and operations.
Demonstrated experience taking ambiguous projects from problem structuring through implementation, focusing on scalable systems.
Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and meet commitments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing sample required).
High agency balanced with good judgment on when to seek input.
Comfort moving between strategic and operational work, and quickly learning new business areas.
Experience using AI to automate workflows.
Experience building and iterating on systems or processes from scratch.
Experience working with technical teams or ability to learn technical topics conceptually.
Comfort working with leadership internally and externally, and confidence in voicing thoughts.
Technical aptitude and learning potential are prioritized over years of experience.
