About the Role

CBC/Radio-Canada is preparing for Canada’s landmark debut at the Eurovision Song Contest. As the senior digital producer, you will serve as the editorial engine and strategic lead for all digital content driving Canada’s national campaign. You will lead the digital narrative from Canada's national artist selection process through to the live international competition, managing multi-platform content strategy, overseeing specialized staff and championing cross-departmental collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a digital content strategy tailored to build domestic awareness, fan engagement, and international presence
  • Lead the rollout of our CBC Eurovision website and social media accounts
  • Oversee digital coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest process, including national selection milestones, behind-the-scenes artist preparations, artist releases, and live event coverage
  • Plan and host regular creative ideation sessions and pitch meetings across production teams
  • Assist in defining target performance metrics (reach, engagement, video completion, etc.)
  • Continuously optimize content formats using real-time social and web analytics
  • Actively keep up to date on social and digital trends, identifying real-time content and engagement opportunities
  • Maintain strict adherence to CBC Editorial Standards, copyright/music licensing guidelines, and EBU digital production mandates
  • Work with CBC and Radio-Canada (French Services) editorial teams to ensure unified, bilingual-aligned brand storytelling
  • Work with CBC’s Media Solutions and Marketing and Communications teams to align sponsor integration and external messaging
  • Coordinate with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) digital teams for asset clearances, official Eurovision Song Contest integrations, and more
  • Coordinate real-time content operations during key live moments (Semi-Finals, Grand Final, press weeks, and rehearsals)
  • Coordinate remote or on-site digital crews delivering real-time social coverage, red-carpet interviews, green room highlights, and voting campaigns

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Seven or more years’ relevant experience, of which a minimum of five must involve direct digital media experience demonstrating excellent content creation, editing, writing and proofreading skills, and a willingness to experiment
  • Deep familiarity with music journalism, live entertainment, and the cultural nuances of the Eurovision Song Contest brand
  • Experience managing people, ideally leading and/or coordinating a team of producers and content creators
  • Supports team development and ongoing staff feedback
  • Active and highly skilled on multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • A strong critical thinker, you will make decisions and provide editorial guidance in line with the CBC Entertainment and European Broadcasting Union guidelines, best practices, and overall digital strategy
  • Keen interest in and an ability to keep pace and adapt to the evolving trends in social and digital media
  • Data driven, with a proven track record of understanding and taking action on relevant performance metrics and analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, along with the ability to work under deadlines and with multiple priorities
  • Video editing and packaging skills, as well as knowledge of the Adobe suite
  • Experience with on-location shooting
  • Strong sense of initiative
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluency in French is an asset, conversational French is essential
  • Project management skills, and an ability to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks to create smoother workflows
  • Ensures all resources within the unit are allocated against strategic priorities
  • Performs all or part of the function or duties of an equivalent or lower classification
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
  • Background check including a mandatory Criminal record check may be conducted
