About the Role

Drive the evolution of the enterprise AI governance framework and facilitate the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence technologies across the organization. Act as a strategic partner to executives and business teams, supporting opportunity identification, integration of value-creating solutions, and development of an AI-literate culture. Oversee the development of practices, policies, and governance mechanisms for responsible and sustainable AI use.

Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce corporate AI policies, directives, and guardrails.
  • Operationalize risk controls and decision accountabilities across the AI lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain a central inventory of AI assets to track systemic risk.
  • Audit unsanctioned AI tools and facilitate their transition into secure enterprise environments.
  • Partner with tech teams to set safety guardrails for low-code/no-code tools.
  • Lead the AI Usage Oversight Committee and coordinate the enterprise AI Steering Committee.
  • Align AI initiatives with Legal, Privacy, InfoSec, Data Governance, and Journalistic Standards.
  • Develop training programs, playbooks, office hours, and champion networks to boost AI literacy.
  • Help business units integrate deployed AI solutions into their production workflows.
  • Direct a cross-functional 'Fusion Team' to re-engineer legacy workflows for AI integration.
  • Define, track, and report performance and governance metrics to prove ROI and accountability.
  • Advise Procurement and Legal on standards for evaluating and onboarding third-party AI vendors.
  • Represent the organization at national and international conferences.
  • Advise executives on AI strategy, run governance committees, and deliver executive briefings.
  • Roll out AI policies across all departments and partner with L&D on staff training.
  • Stand up and lead a cross-functional team for change management, training, and process optimization.
  • Work with department heads and staff to resolve workflow pain points and drive adoption of approved AI tools.
  • Partner with Innovation Leads to establish ROI metrics and report adoption progress.
  • Partner with media organizations, industry groups, and analysts to benchmark best practices.
  • Share CBC/RC case studies and governance frameworks with external and public stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technology leadership experience.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • At least 5 years focused on operationalizing data or technology strategy, machine learning, technology risk management, or corporate governance programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Proven track record building and managing AI oversight programs, governing models and agentic workflows, and developing policies, audits, and control documentation.
  • Ability to turn high-level strategy into actionable standards, operational workflows, and scalable operating models.
  • Demonstrated success scaling technology adoption across matrixed, multi-stakeholder organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of AI lifecycles, generative/agentic risks, data privacy, and public media compliance standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex AI concepts and risks into business impact for executive and board-level stakeholders.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • Background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check, may be conducted.
