About the Role
Hands-on operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, fire prevention equipment, and plumbing. This role involves supervising external vendors and communicating with management regarding ongoing issues.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair air conditioning and heating systems.
- Maintain fire prevention equipment including fire and house pumps, standpipes, sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Manage compressor banks, BMS, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, pumps, VFDs, Generators, domestic water tower, pressure tanks, inergen fire suppression, water heater, dampers, and actuators.
- Oversee chiller and cooling tower operations.
- Perform plumbing work on sinks, toilets, and urinals.
- Supervise external vendors for large equipment repairs.
- Communicate effectively with management on all current and outstanding issues.
- Organize and prioritize work orders.
- Perform water treatment for all closed/open loop and house water systems.
Requirements
- Must be certified as an Operating Engineer.
- Possess Refrigeration of FDNY COF Q-01/99 and CFC Licenses.
- Possess standpipe/sprinkler S-12 & S-13 COFs.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC plant operations and plumbing.
- Ability to work flexible hours and various shifts, including overnight.
- Experience with Outlook and Building Management systems.
- Candidate will be required to join I.U.O.E. Local 30 union.
