About the Role
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. As a Technical Development Intern, Laboratory focus, you will be assigned a project in the bioassay group within PTDA. The candidate will work alongside scientists to design, execute, optimize and analyze biochemical/immunochemical and/or cell-based assays in support of our clinical through launch-phase biologics products. The individual will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, summarizing/presenting data and participating in group meetings and/or project teams. The individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross functional teams to develop novel cell-based potency methods for products with complex mechanisms of action in support of process development, characterization, formulation screens, and GMP quality control of product release and stability. This program provides a broad perspective and appreciation of the development of new processes, methods, and technologies at different production scales in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements
- Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Must have attained a Bachelor's degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a grad program)
- Must be pursuing a Master's degree
- Must have attained a Master's degree
- Must be pursuing a PhD
- Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Biophysics, or related disciplines are preferred.
- Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-directed individual
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

- Relevant work experience in research labs or the biotechnology industry is desirable but not required.
- Prior cell culture experience is preferred but not required.
