About the Role
This internship position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Cell Culture and Bioprocess Operations (CCBO), focusing on developing cell lines, improving cell line development processes, manufacturing GMP cell banks, and developing fermentation and cell culture processes. The role involves hands-on laboratory research and contributes to essential material production and process development for drug substance manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct lab focused research under a supervisor’s guidance
- Thoroughly document activities electronically
- Thoroughly organize, analyze and interpret data
- Prepare for regular meetings to report and present work progress
- Present work to different team members and the department
Requirements
- Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program)
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must have attained a Master's Degree
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
- Must have attained a PhD
- Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biophysics, or related disciplines
- Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-directed individual who is excited about tackling complex and creative scientific challenges in an industrial setting
- Ability to show a high degree of adaptive capacity
- Relevant work experience in research labs or the biotechnology industry is desirable but not required
- Lab work experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

About the Company
- We in Cell Culture and Bioprocess Operations develop the cell lines used to make our products, improve the process of cell line development, manufacture GMP cell banks to support clinical and commercial drug substance production, and develop the fermentation and cell culture processes to support pre-clinical and clinical development through Phase III.
- We provide essential material to gRED, reduce the risk/cost/time of process development through technology development, and deliver the process through small and large scale pilot runs.
