About the Role
As a Venture Associate at Capital Factory, you will identify and recruit promising technology entrepreneurs into the CF's All Access Fund. You will leverage your technical credibility to connect with founders and determine breakthrough ventures.
Responsibilities
- Meet and recruit technology entrepreneurs into CF's All Access Fund.
- Participate in startup community events and programs as a speaker.
- Discover new startups and connect with founders using digital platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Develop relationships with CEOs, Angel Investors, and Venture Capitalists.
- Read local startup news and engage in social media.
- Utilize AI tools for deal flow management and deal memo preparation.
- Gain significant venture capital experience in a short period.
Requirements
- Expertise in a technology area that is changing the world.
- Experience building a community, product, team, program, startup, or initiative.
- At least two years of experience as a founder, employee, or investor at a tech startup.
- Passion for emerging technologies such as AI, quantum, energy, agtech, advanced manufacturing, and robotics.
- Commitment to using AI tools to enhance abilities.
- Outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
- Documenting skills, including making lists and spreadsheets.
- Problem-solving abilities and a knack for creating systems from chaos.
- Organized with the ability to plan ahead and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary to meet deadlines.
- Possession of a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
- Intention to stay in Texas for at least three years.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate proactively about deadlines and propose solutions.
- Professional and presentable demeanor, capable of interacting with diverse individuals.
- Reliable transportation to work in downtown Austin.
- A quiet, secure remote workspace with fast internet.
- Security awareness, including using passcodes and a password manager.
- Proficiency in Google suite productivity tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Availability to work during key industry events like SXSW, DREAMCON, and Austin Tech Week.
- Ability to respond to critical communications within hours, and no more than 24 hours.
