About the Role
In this role, you will operate and maintain machining equipment to produce precise parts for the defense, space, and commercial aerospace industries. You will be part of a skilled and growing team at ADDMAN, focusing on safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, clean, and maintain machining equipment including lathes, mills, and 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
- Ensure efficient operations and high equipment utilization.
- Prioritize safety by using personal protective equipment and adhering to safety procedures.
- Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Calculate and set machining controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
- Select appropriate programs, fixtures, tooling, drills, and inserts.
- Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other personnel to resolve machining issues.
- Perform layouts, set up, and operate various machine tools.
- Follow traveler/router instructions and machining procedures.
- Perform preventive and basic maintenance on facility equipment.
- Set up equipment according to blueprint specifications with minimal supervision.
- Operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy.
- Install machined replacement parts and test equipment functionality.
- Accurately record production information, including material details and part counts.
- Update inventory systems and prepare tags for non-conforming parts.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications and tight tolerances (+/- 0.0001).
- Adhere to AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards and QMS requirements.
- Provide training to other department members when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production counts and record production hours.
- Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties, maintaining an orderly and safe work area.
- Keep equipment and product free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
- Promote teamwork within the organization.
- Follow all Company Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. person due to ITAR regulations.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Works independently with a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams to support core business and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
- Computer aptitude (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must be a team player and willing to learn new skills and concepts.
- Previous experience in machining and with quality processes is desired.
- Some exposure and experience with manufacturing/CNC machining processes.
- Understand continuous improvement or lean/six sigma principles.
- Must wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe shoes.
- Must adhere to standard safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for complying with company hazardous waste disposal procedures.
