About the Role

The Compliance Function protects the Bank and serves the public interest by ensuring sound risk-based compliance controls and promoting a strong ethical mindset. This role oversees the development and implementation of technology solutions to advance the Bank’s Financial Crime Compliance objectives, including transaction monitoring scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Financial Crime and Trading Compliance in leading the implementation of technology solutions for effective financial crime compliance.
  • Identify, develop, and implement FCC transaction monitoring scenarios aligned with the Bank’s products, services, and risk appetite.
  • Create and oversee the testing and tuning of transaction monitoring scenarios before production implementation and on an ongoing basis.
  • Evaluate internal control structures for automated FCC solutions to identify potential weaknesses and risks.
  • Partner with First Line colleagues to oversee the implementation of Know-Your-Customer and case management functionality for FCC technology solutions.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with third-party vendors for financial crime systems.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with other Bank stakeholders, including Risk and Audit Groups.
  • Develop role-related presentations and perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience and deep subject matter expertise with regulatory, financial crime, AML, and sanctions compliance.
  • Established track record working with financial crime compliance technologies, including transaction monitoring and KYC systems.
  • Design and implementation experience in AML technologies, including transaction monitoring rule development, tuning, and optimization.
  • Experience with AML/financial crime technology solutions such as SAS, NICE Actimize, Quantexa, Palantir, and/or similar platforms.
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with statistical programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Expertise in common fraud or money laundering typologies.
  • Ability to proactively manage change in a complex and dynamic organizational, technological, and operating environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a focus on positive intent and ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues independently, draw conclusions, and produce reports and recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience providing client service to employees at all levels.
  • Background handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strategic orientation with the ability to anticipate issues, identify emerging trends, and recommend action.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask under time constraints.
  • Requires access to confidential supervisory information (CSI) and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or meet protected individual status.
