About the Role
This position supports the facility’s operational requirements and initiatives by performing all processes and activities related to receiving, stocking, replenishment, order processing, shipping, and inventory control. You will use a computer for UPS & Fed Ex, repack product, and handle international orders, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities
- Receive work direction from the Lead or other designated person performing various warehouse duties.
- Participate in activities supporting the NIBCO safety system, including pre-shift stretching, safety meetings, and accident prevention.
- Ensure product is shipped and handled with the highest quality standards while achieving maximum productivity.
- Perform job duties safely, as a team member, with integrity, and strive for continuous business improvement.
- Be trained to operate powered industrial vehicles (PIV) including stand-up order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, Pacers, and pallet jacks.
- Perform daily operator’s checklists and inspections before using any PIV equipment.
- Locate orders, raw materials, supplies, and finished goods from trucks, racks, docks, or designated staging areas and check for accuracy.
- Move (load or unload) product to the proper location for the next process step or prepare goods for shipment (boxing, weighing, wrapping, etc.).
- Use an RF Scanner and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ensure compliance with approved operating policies, procedures, and schedules.
- Be willing to work in all areas of distribution and be flexible to daily job assignments, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Report all safety hazards and unsafe working conditions.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Treat all associates with dignity and respect.
- Flow to available work, potentially working in other areas of the distribution center as dictated by the flow of new orders for indeterminate periods.
Requirements
- Experience in a distribution center or manufacturing operation preferred.
- SAP ERP knowledge preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- High School diploma or GED certificate required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods on a concrete surface.
- Ability to be positioned at heights up to 6ft.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to visually identify work instructions.
- Ability to use both hands to operate PIV equipment.
