About the Role
The EVS Shift Manager assists the EVS Manager in overseeing the daily operations and management of the EVS Department, ensuring all duties align with Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee complete operations of Environmental Services within the casino, including cleaning of various areas.
- Collaborate with supervisors to develop schedules and plans based on operational needs.
- Conduct evaluations of labor requirements and productivity, recommending staffing levels and performance management.
- Instruct, train, and provide direction to all Environmental Service staff.
- Prepare and approve work schedules, ensure proper training, conduct employee evaluations, and assist in hiring.
- Oversee training, recognition, coaching, and discipline for personnel under the EVS Manager's guidance.
- Administer High Lift training for all EVS staff upon certification.
- Develop, implement, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Perform daily inspections of casino and public areas to ensure efficiency and service standards.
- Meet with other departments to ensure cleaning schedules are supported and requirements are met.
- Identify areas for employee development and coordinate departmental training programs.
- Maintain strict adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures, including compliance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment, including COVID-19 protocols.
- Prepare financial reports, investigate discrepancies, and assist in budget preparation.
- Monitor inventory and supplies, recommending purchases.
- Order and stock supplies, including laundry and linen inventories.
- Work independently without direct supervision.
- Maintain an understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Familiarity with proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Ability to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to work with various cleaning chemicals and agents.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Ability to effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and the business community in all situations.

Experience Level
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory position preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a high traffic, large facility required.
Education Level
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Four-year Hospitality related degree preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $22.00
- Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
