About the Role
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for the U.S. entity, ensuring financial statement integrity and managing the monthly close process. This role requires full ownership of the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet, including reconciliations, variance analysis, intercompany accounting, and U.S. GAAP compliance. The position involves supervising one to two Senior Accountants while remaining hands-on with daily accounting tasks, making it ideal for a well-rounded professional who enjoys team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process for the U.S. entity.
- Maintain full ownership of the accuracy and integrity of the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Review monthly financial results and perform detailed P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis, identifying trends and explaining significant fluctuations.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and review revenue-related accounting activities.
- Own the intercompany accounting process, including recording intercompany transactions, preparing reconciliations, resolving differences, and coordinating with global finance teams to ensure timely settlements.
- Review and analyze key balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue, work in progress (WIP), accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop one to two Senior Accountants, providing guidance, reviewing work, and supporting professional growth.
- Partner with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables.
- Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives, and strengthening internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Support tax-related accounting matters and collaborate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Participate in special projects and other ad hoc accounting initiatives.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading the month-end close process.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
- Experience owning the full Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet for a business entity.
- Strong account reconciliation, financial analysis, and month-end close experience.
- Experience managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Google Workspace.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
