About the Role
Cleanleaf is seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to lead and train field team members. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of solar and battery installations.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, and a focus on safety and quality of work.
- Supervise, lead, and train Solar Technician I or Solar Technician II team members.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on solar and battery installations according to standards.
- Perform Corrective Maintenance on solar and battery installations, identifying and correcting root causes.
- Ensure work performed meets or exceeds Cleanleaf O&M standards.
- Complete assigned tasks safely, correctly, and within the allotted time.
- Account for, maintain, and repair/replace assigned PPE, tools, and equipment.
- Interface with SCADA/DAS systems to understand and communicate onsite issues.
- Document all work in Cleanleaf's CMMS, including proper grammar, spelling, photography, thermal photography, and checklists.
- Provide technical support for customer issues as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Read, understand, and sign all safety procedures.
- Attend weekly safety meetings.
- Receive, inspect, and maintain all required PPE.
- Complete all required safety training.
- Report all known safety incidents timely and accurately.
- Ensure all safety incidents involving the employee are investigated, documented, and corrective actions are implemented.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have and maintain an active state journeyman license.
- Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation and SalesForce systems.
- Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand basic drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge and understanding of solar plant construction and how onsite equipment interacts with the overall plant.
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair SCADA/DAS systems.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform IV Curve tracing, determine if an issue exists and repair it.
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair major solar plant components (e.g., central and string inverters, transformers, combiner and re-combiner boxes, switch gears, PV modules, etc.).
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair major battery storage components (e.g., central and string inverters, transformers, combiner and re-combiner boxes, switch gears, battery banks, etc.).
- Complete courses and maintain advanced inverter certifications.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when the path forward is undefined.
- A passion for renewable energy, addressing the climate crisis, and accelerating the clean energy transformation.
