About the Role
The Robotics Technician will assist in integration, troubleshooting, and training of autonomous vehicle technologies, primarily providing on-site technical support to customers in the Tonawanda, NY and surrounding areas. This position works under the direction of the Autonomous Vehicle Operations Team and may provide support at other North American locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist or lead in integrating AV systems primarily at locations within the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas with no overnight travel.
- Occasionally assist or lead in integrating AV systems at other customer locations in North America with overnight travel.
- Work extensively with software applications and web interfaces to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot AV systems.
- Be physically present at customer sites to observe and optimize AV system performance.
- Occasionally work remotely from home to support customers.
- Effectively communicate with customers.
- Prepare system technical reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
- Minimum of 2+ years of work experience.
- Must be willing to travel overnight – up to 25%.
- Ability to use voltmeter and various small hand tools.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Logical and analytical thinking with a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to advise, mentor, coach, teach, and effectively communicate with colleagues and customers.
- Must be able to occasionally lift / move up to 70lbs.
- Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents.
Skills
- PC laptop proficiency
- Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Basic knowledge of TelNet
- Working knowledge of automation technology (PLCs, Motors, Servos, Motor Controllers, Power Circuits, RFID, Encoders, Sensors etc.) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of electrical theory is a plus.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles is a plus.
