About the Role
As a Medical Assistant at Golden State Dermatology, you will partner with providers to guide patients through their treatment, ensuring exceptional service and a welcoming, comfortable experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and patient understanding of procedures, making notes in EMA.
- Ensure MIPS information is consistently and accurately completed in the medical record.
- Assist with scheduling patient tests and treatments.
- Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures, including excisions, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
- Provide support to the front desk by answering phones and scheduling patients.
- Clean and perform spore testing on the autoclave, following scheduled maintenance, and keeping accurate records.
- Check expiration dates on medications and samples, maintaining records.
- Keep the biopsy book, slides, and pathology reports up to date, and record results in patient charts.
- Process prescription refills and ensure authorization as needed.
- Manage the pathology and culture log responsibly.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.
- Ensure timely completion of all responsibilities through multitasking and task management.

- Previous Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience
- Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (i.e., Medicare, commercial, HMO)
- Proficiency with EClinicalWorks, EMA, or other EMR software
