About the Role
SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeler to play an important role in achieving the company's goal of Making Sustainability Happen. Success in this role depends on demonstrated skills in mentorship, business development, client service, and technical mastery. The successful applicant will join a team supporting mining companies worldwide in managing mine water issues.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the SLR team on hydrogeological projects in Canada, Australia, and South America.
- Develop and refine groundwater flow & contaminant transport models with input from senior staff and other team members.
- Review and interpret a variety of groundwater-related data and information as part of conceptual and numerical modeling.
- Develop 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using designated software.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD degree in Hydrogeology or a related discipline, ideally with an emphasis on numerical groundwater modeling.
- Registered as a P.Geo or P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientists.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling using numerical modelling finite difference and/or finite element software such as GMS, Groundwater Vistas and FEFLOW.
- Experience with developing 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using software packages such as surfer, Leapfrog and EVS.
- Experience with developing and managing codes and scripts in Python and FloPy, FORTRAN, or others.
- Proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license, and willingness to undertake short term travel in Canada and overseas.
