About the Role

The Digital Brand Experience team within GM's Web, Apps & Emerging Experiences group explores new interaction models, technologies, and customer behaviors across digital platforms. This role involves defining future experience paradigms through concept work, prototyping, and interaction frameworks, influencing long-term product and brand direction. It combines hands-on design with technical skills and cross-functional collaboration to create engaging customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead exploration and definition of future digital experience paradigms across web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop and validate a future vision for design at GM.
  • Reimagine end-to-end web experiences, identify new interaction models, and prototype concepts.
  • Navigate ambiguous, cross-cutting problems requiring strategic thinking and design rigor.
  • Establish experience frameworks and design patterns for product teams and the design system.
  • Define experiential language, interaction principles, and storytelling for emerging digital journeys.
  • Partner with product, engineering, research, and marketing teams to validate concepts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate emerging technologies into actionable design direction.
  • Participate in design reviews, iterate on feedback, and present work with a focus on clarity and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in digital product and experience design, including senior roles.
  • Proven experience designing concept-driven, future-facing work across web and mobile platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to define interaction models, experience architectures, complex patterns, and design frameworks at a system level.
  • Advanced proficiency with digital design and prototyping tools (Figma required).
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong brand design, visual design skills, and UX strategy implementation.
