About the Role
This position assists the Print and Pattern Manager in creating, developing, and executing seasonal prints, patterns, and color from concept through production. The print team serves as a creative liaison between various departments to ensure prints are brand-appropriate and technically ready for production.
Responsibilities
- Create and prepare print packages, including CAD artwork, repeats, technical print information, specific measurements, and cuttings within calendar deadlines.
- Create and maintain seasonal print charts, including ready dates of sample yardage, approval status, print direction, print placement, and other relevant information.
- Assist in making timely color comments and approvals on strike-offs and bulk submits.
- Collaborate with the Design team, CAD team, and outside studios/artists to develop focused and cohesive prints.
- Partner with Sourcing, Product Development, and R&D to determine print allocation to specific factories/countries.
- Communicate print issues, concerns, and updates to cross-functional teams and overseas partners.
- Create presentation print boards and color cards for key Concept and Line Presentation meetings.
- Enter specific print quality and color information into the SCM system for cross-functional teams.
- Partner with the manager and overseas partners to troubleshoot print development and execution challenges.
- Update and maintain print quality reference books with swatches, fabric detail sheets, and print quality limitations charts.
Requirements
- College Degree and 0-3 years of experience in the textile/design print field.
- Ability to interpret aesthetic design inspiration into production-ready patterns.
- Technical expertise in prints, color matching, and creation of colorways.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and troubleshoot, as well as flexible and collaborative.
- Ability to act as a creative liaison between design, merchant, and product development teams.
- Culturally aware and able to work with global partners.
- Ability to be a self-motivator, proactive, and able to take directions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
