About the Role
This role provides a high level of support to members and internal staff for daily account operations, including retirement services, online account opening, and compliance with regulations. The position also supports other operational business units to ensure excellent member service.
Responsibilities
- Process requests for Verification of Deposit within established timeframes.
- Perform various mail processing functions.
- Conduct onsite record retention and destruction according to departmental guidelines.
- Compile and maintain departmental daily/monthly statistical reporting data.
- Sort and date stamp department mail according to the staff rotation schedule.
- Process return mail.
- Review assigned service request categories daily and respond/resolve within established time frames and member service standards.
- Review assigned reconciliations daily and maintain supporting documentation for outstanding or problem items.
- Research outstanding reconciliation items and follow up to clear items within established timeframes, ensuring no aging items over 30 days.
- Adhere to all internal and external member service standards.
- Perform various IRA/HSA functions.
- Handle account maintenance items for Campus Connect and Smart Sense accounts.
- Open and close member accounts and IRA accounts according to member instructions, department procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Mail member certificate maturity notifications and process member certificate renewal instructions.
- Process all IRA transaction corrections to member accounts and to the IRS.
- Maintain credit union IRA/HSA member files, ensuring timely filing of all transaction documentation.
- Ensure proper IRA paperwork is received before the settlement of any deceased members' IRA.
- Collaborate with colleagues for effective and efficient task completion.
- Provide and embrace ideas for continuous improvement within the Credit Union.
- Process new online membership applications and additional share applications via Meridian Link, utilizing SalesForce for member onboarding.
- Open all new accounts by mail, adhering to the account opening process and enhancing due diligence.
- Open all new organization and specialty accounts, performing enhanced due diligence and reviewing all documentation.
Requirements
- Associates degree preferred, or minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a level 1 position or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high monetary risk operations environment governed by established deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to make effective decisions under pressure in a high monetary risk environment.
- Sound organizational and time management skills.
- Experience reviewing proposals and business cases, drawing logical conclusions from analysis.
- High level of technology proficiency.
- Experience working with reconciliations is helpful.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, particularly in creating and manipulating spreadsheets and creating reports from spreadsheets.
- Bilingual individuals fluent in a second language in addition to English are highly encouraged to apply.
