About the Role
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking a part-time Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) for its Manhattan Rehabilitation Centers. This role involves providing medical and therapeutic massage to patients undergoing orthopedic surgery recovery, athletes, and those with non-operative orthopedic conditions. The candidate will work within an academic setting, collaborating with physical therapists and exercise physiologists, with opportunities for professional development and community outreach.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical and therapeutic massage to pre/post orthopedic surgery patients.
- Provide medical and therapeutic massage to athletes recovering from injury and improving performance.
- Provide medical and therapeutic massage to patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions.
- Collaborate with a staff of physical therapists and exercise physiologists.
- Attend education conferences (optional).
- Participate in community outreach (optional).
Requirements
- Possess a NY state license for Massage Therapy in good standing.
- Provide evidence of current malpractice insurance.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with a wide variety of clientele.
