About the Role
As a temporary on-call delivery agent (also called a postal worker), you will represent Canada Post in your community and ensure individuals and businesses receive the mail and packages they expect. You enjoy working outdoors and being active year-round, want to work for a large national company, and would be proud to serve your fellow citizens.
Responsibilities
- Sort and prepare mail for delivery.
- Load and drive a postal vehicle.
- Deliver mail and packages to customers on foot or by vehicle.
- Unload incoming mail and packages for subsequent delivery.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 or G driver's license with a good driving record for at least three years.
- Ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and regularly carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) throughout the day.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be available on-call and work within the entire Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English or French.
Skills
- Customer service experience.
- Delivery or driver experience.
- Ability to walk an average of 15 to 25 km per day.
