About the Role
The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. It offers development workshops, networking opportunities, and the chance to work on meaningful projects with mentorship. Interns will experience the full software development lifecycle within an enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Take part in agile ceremonies.
- Experience the full software development lifecycle, including production delivery in an enterprise environment.
- Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
- Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
- Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
- Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.
- Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
- Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with the company policies.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Computing Sciences & Information Technology (i.e. Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.) or similar program(s)
- Preferred (but not required) experience with: Programming/coding, web design, software development.
- High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
- Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
