About the Role
The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. It offers opportunities to attend development workshops, network with professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects. Interns receive mentorship and develop skills throughout the summer, gaining exposure to key business concepts and potentially working in technical or non-technical areas. This program runs for 10 weeks, from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August, with up to 40 hours per week. Housing is not provided.
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise governance initiatives by assisting with program operations, data analysis, reporting, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement activities.
- Improve visibility, accountability, and effectiveness across governance programs.
- Gain exposure to data management, risk management, analytics, and emerging AI governance practices.
- Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
- Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
- Perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects.
- Create and deliver presentations at the completion of the internship.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the company's mission and values.
- Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy.
- Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on teams.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
Skills
- Ability to work with large data sets and organize information.
- Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document processes and procedures clearly.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies.
- Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/dashboard tools.
- Knowledge of data governance, data management, or AI governance concepts.
- Familiarity with metadata, data quality, data lineage, or data catalogs.
- Project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

- The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company.
- Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer.
- Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts.
- Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.
