About the Role
Standard Bots is seeking a Hardware Product Manager to own a product from conception through customer reliance, focusing on building an accessible robotics platform for manufacturing and beyond. The ideal candidate is a builder with strong product sense, capable of iterating quickly and delivering high-quality hardware.
Responsibilities
- Own product discovery, strategy, and delivery for a hardware product area from 0-1.
- Develop a strong market point of view, identifying customer needs, competitive landscape, and opportunities.
- Drive iterative testing loops, including prototyping, real-world testing, learning, and revision.
- Deeply understand customer problems through user interaction and site visits.
- Define product specifications and requirements for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers on trade-offs.
- Partner with design and engineering to mitigate risks early in the development process.
Requirements
- 5+ years in hardware product management.
- Hands-on experience building robotics products is ideal.
- Experience taking a hardware product from concept to release.
- Comfortable running iterative test-and-learn cycles with physical prototypes.
- Proven track record of building and shipping products.
- Critical thinking about customer and market problems.
- Ability to break down ambiguity into structured decisions.
- Strong design and engineering sense.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
