About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support Facilities Management and Utilities Projects for the State of NY Office of General Services (OGS). Join our team and contribute to an organization with a strong track record in construction management, engineering, and program management.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Assistant Director, Utilities, overseeing projects at Empire State Plaza, Sheridan Avenue Steam Plant, River Front Pump Station, and Harriman State Office Building Campus.
- Apply specialized construction knowledge to coordinate human and material resources within the Utilities PMR&I plan.
- Develop and utilize project management plans to coordinate Utilities PMR&I plan activities.
- Direct and coordinate daily activities of skilled trades staff.
- Provide administrative and technical supervision to lower-level skilled trades staff.
- Record and report schedules, progress, and project expenditures.
- Independently oversee multiple small to medium scope projects or assist in managing larger projects.
- Balance competing demands and mitigate risks to ensure project delivery within budget, scope, time, and quality standards.
- Oversee and coordinate requests for quotes for Utilities PMR&I projects.
- Maintain organization and adaptability to changing priorities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of building/rehabilitation projects.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Superintendent or Project Engineer on projects valued above $5 million.
- Thorough knowledge of RFI tracking, contract document review, forecast scheduling and costs, change order review, and payment review.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available.
