About the Role
The University of Rochester is seeking an individual to provide expert advisement and support in developing and maturing the business continuity management program. This role involves collaborating with leadership to identify critical functions, performing impact and risk analyses, and developing documentation and educational content to ensure business resiliency.
Responsibilities
- Provides expert advisement and support to management and business functional areas in developing and maturing the business continuity management program.
- Collaborates with departmental leadership and other stakeholders to identify critical business functions and develop strategies.
- Performs business impact analysis (BIA), application impact analysis (AIA), and facility-based risk analysis.
- Conducts data analysis, including gap analysis and process improvement analysis related to the program.
- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, manuals, and other documentation.
- Creates data and analytics solutions for business continuity.
- Documents and translates data gathered through workshops into consumable information for the business continuity program and executive leadership.
- Creates meaningful reports for use across all levels of the enterprise.
- Independently provides direct consultative support to business functional areas based on UR standards and industry best practices.
- Performs business intelligence actions, including gathering gap analysis and process improvement information.
- Provides consultation and analysis, makes remediation recommendations, and provides other project support.
- Maintains related documentation for business continuity application tools.
- Evaluates and determines criticality and risk business areas.
- Facilitates in-person workshops with departmental leadership and other stakeholders to process map critical business functions, normal business processes, workflows, recovery, downtime, processes and strategies.
- Develops and provides business continuity education and awareness content to ensure labor pool resiliency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related discipline and 7 years of business continuity experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Business continuity certification (BRCI, DRI, ISO or equivalent) upon hire required.
- Certifications in FEMA ICS 100, ICS 200, IS 700 and IS 800 upon hire required.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission and other regulatory and accrediting business continuity controls relevant to UR and URMC and affiliates required.
