About the Role
The PET Maintenance Subject Matter Expert plays a key role in executing assigned Maintenance tasks. This includes partnering closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and quality manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical expert for PET Maintenance equipment and processes.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for machine, process, and quality issues.
- Establish and maintain optimal machine settings and processing parameters.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and standardize best practices for machine setup, startup, changeovers, and shutdown procedures.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Reduce scrap, downtime, and material waste through process improvements.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for increased productivity and efficiency.
- Implement process controls to ensure consistent product quality and cycle performance.
- Support validation of new molds, tooling, and process changes.
- Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Assist in developing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Evaluate recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective solutions.
- Support capital projects, upgrades, and installation of new PET Maintenance equipment.
- Maintain expertise in machine components including extruders, parison programming systems, molds, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and automation equipment.
- Train operators, technicians, mechanics, and supervisors on PET Maintenance processes and equipment.
- Develop skills matrices, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor production and maintenance personnel on advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Assess operator competencies and recommend development plans.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate product defects and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to improve process capability and product consistency.
- Support audits and customer visits as required.
