About the Role

As an Accounting Intern (m/f/d) at JW Marriott Berlin, you will support the Accounting team with daily tasks and projects, contributing to the hotel's financial operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Accounting team with invoice preparation and processing.
  • Assist with daily account reconciliations and the preparation of Statements of Account (SOAs).
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and LSOP standards across departments.
  • Maintain accurate and organized filing of all accounting documentation.
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts and ensure complete documentation and history records.
  • Ensure the proper handling and documentation of credit card transactions and imprints.
  • Support the monitoring and adjustment of group billing accounts.
  • Assist the Internal Auditor with daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Support the Director of Finance with various projects.
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager throughout the procurement process.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of receivable accounts, including City Ledger, Guest Ledger, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Take over responsibilities within Accounting, Finance, and Purchasing during team members' absences.
  • Maintain close cooperation and collaboration with department leaders across the hotel.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a university and looking for a mandatory internship as part of your studies.
  • Ideally, you already have knowledge of the hospitality industry and a strong affinity for numbers.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and remain calm under pressure.
  • You are a warm, authentic, and outgoing personality.
  • You have excellent communication skills in both German and English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • You are flexible, reliable, and have a strong commitment to quality.
  • You work in an organized and structured manner with great attention to detail.
