About the Role
Varney Agency is seeking an experienced Large Commercial Lines Account Manager to manage and service a sophisticated book of commercial property and casualty accounts, with a focus on real estate and related industries. This role serves as the primary client contact and works closely with Producers, carriers, and internal team members to deliver responsive service, review coverage needs, and support account retention and growth.
Responsibilities
- Possess advanced commercial insurance knowledge, including complex coverages, risk management, carrier markets, and underwriting practices.
- Identify coverage gaps, negotiate with carriers, and support sophisticated insurance programs.
- Demonstrate large account management and client advisory skills, managing complex commercial accounts with multiple entities, locations, carriers, and lines of coverage.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, CFOs, and risk managers.
- Coordinate multiple complex renewals, remarketing efforts, carrier negotiations, and service deliverables across producers, underwriters, and support staff.
- Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license required; NY and/or NJ preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and real estate risks
- Experience with agency management systems; Applied EPIC preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
