About the Role
Join a prominent asset allocator client as a data engineer to build a modern investment data platform. This hands-on role is for an early-career professional eager to learn, take ownership, and grow quickly within a high-standards team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations in SQL and Python, using dbt, Snowflake, and orchestration tools.
- Model investment and operational data for accuracy and ease of use.
- Write tests, data quality checks, and reconciliations, and fix root causes of issues.
- Ship code through review and CI/CD, and monitor production pipelines.
- Collaborate with analysts and investment teams to deliver trusted datasets and reports.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance speed and quality.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a closely related software role.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Solid grounding in data modeling and ETL/ELT.
- Experience with a modern data warehouse (Snowflake, Synapse, Databricks, or similar).
- Experience with a transformation or orchestration tool (dbt, ADF, Airflow, Dagster, or similar).
- Demonstrated habits of careful engineering: version control, code review, testing, and monitoring.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- High ownership: take problems to resolution independently.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn the investment side.
- High standards for work and openness to feedback.
- Energy and drive for growth into a senior engineer.
